It Pays To Be Pushy!

In April 2005 four kakapo chicks were brought to a secret location in Nelson to be hand raised. We thought it would be an amazing experience if we could visit them.

Although we thought it was pushy, we e-mailed DOC officer, Daryl Eason, and asked him if we could come and visit the chicks. He said yes!

This is the story of our visit...

There are only 86 kakapo in existence. We were lucky enough to meet four of them in Nelson.
